About me.png

Let me introduce myself!

My name is Craig Mendoza and I’m a UX/UI designer in Los Angeles. Before diving into UX/UI design my focus was split between two different environments. My artistic side was centered around graphic design. I was an in-house graphic designer for a non-profit which allowed me to create many different designs to inform our donor base. The other side of my life was focused on philosophy. I studied religious philosophy in school so that I could understand why people do what they do and why they believe what they believe. I wanted to know what made people tick. This was where my desire to become a UX/UI designer began. I knew that my background in both design and human studies would provide me with a great entry point into this ever-expanding field.

I had the base skillset down but I needed to really work hard to truly understand the ins and outs of UX/UI. It was not just about making things look nice or to have the proper technique. It was about using my creativity to address a user’s needs. I needed to learn how to combine design techniques with the more important aspect of focusing on the user. I had to put the user at the forefront of everything I did.
